In fact we need more of these kinds of stuff, I wish anet can make some town decoration items like a 10 min giant snowmen summon or something, gives me something to do since everyone else avoid people/chatting like the plague (unless trade spamming), making the towns boring as hell. The people that get annoyed are usually there just to trade or are "setting up heroes" to leave.

So, let me get this straight... Just because you don't have a problem with something, everyone else should have to suffer?

That's real mature, I must say.

I'm just suggesting we're given a user based option to not have to see or hear it. Why the hell would anyone have a problem with that? You can watch the stuff if you want, it bothers some of us a lot though, and we shouldn't have to be subjected to it. I would think that's just common courtesy....

this made me lol.

I don't generally like them, I have my sound turned off but yeah when standing in random towns I don't see the point of having fireworks 24/7. I go and stand in some secluded area while doing work or playing guitar or whatever and whenever I look at the screen someone's started rockets off for the next half an hour :P

I mean it's no biggie, but I can understand that it can get annoying.

Altho a simple rezone does the trick

You can't honestly tell people that they must pay $500 to make the fireworks NOT hang the PC.

An option for turning off fireworks and so on would be good, and if they have time to waste on Zaishen Menagerie, why not on something useful?
You're actually the only one that makes sense in this thread. I have to give you credit for it . It sorts of breaks one of the nice properties of GW, the ability to run on modest computers.

I'm siding with Empress here.
Doesn't matter where I go, every single outpost has freaking Fireworks.
My loadtime is also longer because of it when entering an outpost. Which basically turns every outpost into Spamadan with the overload of flashing stuff and BANG BANG BANG.

Oh come on

Original post is right, fireworks were to mark huge game celebrations and ingame events. Now they're on non stop. I don't like that fireworks were turned into a trivial non stop thing.

But on the other hand i did start them as well, several districts. I don't even hang around to see them. I just need the 7 party points And I'm always upset when someone started them before me in that district

Fixed this for you as well

As for the fireworks I can understand it might cuase trouble with some old computers so /signed

But TBh "I don't like the look of them" isn't really a valid reason

Why not suggest turning the screen off or not playing at all.

Aren't you one of the people that didn't want Yeti sounds to go away?

Come on, personal attacks? That's just low. You should be ashamed of yourself. The way I post may rub you the wrong way for some reason, but by in return posting examples like the above quoted, you not only go to such a level, but far below it. I don't have vendettas here and I don't recommend them.

If you have a problem, I suggest you take it up with me in pm's like an adult.

i agree with empress on this one at least with the yeti sounds i can turn off my sound and help me i had to play with an older computer. i think they should only allows these in the guild halls like the original ones were and only have fireworks in town during events.. so im going signed on this. if y'all like em so much shoot em off in your guild hall

the perma fireworks are quite annoying. holiday events lost a whole lot of neatness and fun when candy items and tonics and fireworks have become so commmon. there really isnt anything special with holidays anymore, aside from a few drops that give fewer points per than the common stuff of today.

by having the fireworks/sounds show up for everyone, there is a longer load time (infringing on my gameplay, more drain on the graphics card, and annoyance)

simple solution, because there is already coding and stuff in the game for things like alcohol (the single person effects that you can turn off) why not make fireworks like that too, only you can see them, therefore if you like them, have them all you want, and it wont infringe on anyone else, but to be fair, keep the announcement saying you started them if you really need to feel special.

to people that say turn your sound off and stare at the ground? thats stupid. why should what you want to do make me have to do something i dont want to? for events its okay, a couple days during a holiday are alright, but all day everyday is just rediculous.

id like to see a 'pve effects button' put into place. a little box on your options menu that you can check to turn off tonics, fireworks, alcohol effects, etc. this way i dont have to mess with my settings (volume levels for effects and such that help very much in pvp) when i come to a town to buy/sell.
